Problems of SociologySociology is the study of social phenomena. The purpose of sociology is to study social behaviors, interaction, and issues within the society. It examines how the society reacts to certain situations and individuals and how these phenomena may be corrected and changed in order to serve the society and benefit the people.Sociologists are also concerned with social problems that are affecting people's lives today. They know that these problems cannot be resolved as long as people live in their own world. The study of sociology has many different areas of study. The sociologists may divide sociology into two categories: social problems and social issues.There are sociological problems and social issues that have little relation to their practical uses, but are just large enough to create a debate about them. However, there are sociological problems that are quite serious. Sociological problems are usually very different from one society to another.One sociological p roblem, discrimination, has affected many societies. In some countries, racial discrimination is an accepted practice, while in other countries, racial discrimination is considered a crime and people are prosecuted for it.Race discrimination has been present in every society since time immemorial. In the US, discrimination against people of color is not even acknowledged by society. On the other hand, it is common in African-American communities. The historical significance of racism, however, did not prevent it from being widely practiced today.Another type of sociological problems are economic problems. The sociologist studies the effect of the economy on people and society. Economists tend to accept that there is no such thing as an uneconomical nation or society. Sociologists attempt to prove otherwise by investigating the reasons behind economic downturns and showing the various effects of various economic policies.Another type of sociological problems is the lack of communicat ion among individuals, whether they speak English or not. Sociologists have studied the effect of English language on the everyday lives of the citizens.The list of sociological problems goes on. The effect of modern society is always discussed and studied, so much so that sociological problems have been so well researched that we hardly notice that they are taking place anymore.
